Trip to beautiful local ruins for year six children-May 2018!

Year six children got the chance to visit our local Furness Abbey at the end of this half-term. There was some historical content to the trip, but also the chance to chill out with their friends, have an Abbey Mill ice cream and test out some of the boats they made as part of this term’s Power of Reading unit on Kensuke’s Kingdom! It was the hottest day of the year so far but that didn’t stop the children dressing up as medieval monks and processing to the Chapter House accompanied by Gregorian chanting music! Phew!
